The unique thing about the Sophie is that all her 12 passengers can sit outside in the bow or can sit inside the salon . With the open bow instead of the traditional open aft deck you have a wonderful view of what is happening in front of the ship instead of looking at the back from the transom. Whatever the weather, you and your group can all sit outside in the bow or cozy up together inside the salon. With the notoriously unreliable weather in the Netherlands this makes the Sophie the perfect boat to explore the Amsterdam canals with.
The Sophie is fully electrically powered and wonderfully heated in winter. Sophie has a very well stocked bar. The toilet on board is spacious and easily accessible.
The Sophie was built in 1911 by the two wealthy Rademaker brothers. They had made a fortune in the timber trade and the Sophie is a ship that belongs to the first group of steel pleasure boats from the early 20th century and makes Sophie the oldest salonboat in Amsterdam.
In 2024 Sophie was saved from going to the scrapyard and we have fully rebuilt her back from scratch. The result is a stunning vessel that makes everyone turn their heads.

Fantastic boat trip around Amsterdam! The boat (Sophie) itself was perfect, especially as the weather wasn’t great so having a large inside area was lovely to have and was well heated as well. John, our captain was a great chap, very knowledgeable about the city and happy to answer all questions. The bar was more than sufficient for our needs! Would highly recommend!! Thanks guys

Erg leuke boottocht met gezellige schipper die leuke weetjes deelde. Mooie boot. Perfect voor onze groep van 10. Er kunnen er best nog een paar mensen bij. Maar was prettig intiem. De prijs voor de drank en borrelgarnituur was wat hoog. Daar eet en drink je niet tegenop. Maar ach. Voor herhaling vatbaar.
